I checked my watch for the millionth time. It was already 7:30, and he was 25 minutes late. I gave him the first five minutes, since I did pour on the tutoring, but this is rediculous. I gathered my books in my arms and stood from my seat. Just as I walked from the library, a conversation hit my ears.

I ducked back into the library and peeked out the crack in the door. It was Britney's posse, gang, or whatever they were. A blonde girl lead the bunch, giggling. Their actual presence didn't make me duck back into the library, but the subject of their converstion did. "She's with Mr. Black in the Astronomy tower. Looks like they'll be up there for a while." Her squeeky voice sounded like Moaning Myrtle!

How did she ever get boyfriends? I watched them pass, my eyes narrowed on the blonde girl's outfit. Her skirt was hiked up to her thighs, and I was suddenly reminded why she got the boys' attention. "Stupid whore."

I mumbled, walking out into the hallway. If Sirius thought he could just ditch me, then he's about to get another lesson in the game of...tutoring...Oh well, you understand!

Needless to say, I stomped heavily on each step until the Astronomy Tower was in view. I set my eyes into a glare and stomped up the next spiral of stairs. Of course, I stopped stomping after about the fifth step. This staircase was always so bloody difficult! I hated it, no...despised it!

After much struggling, and only cursing once when my books fell out of my hands, I was at the top, staring at a fork in the hallway. One lead to the Divination classroom, the other to the Astronomy Tower. Why do people find this so romantic? It's where we have class! There's nothing romantic about a classroom!

A loud knock sounded at my front door.

I threw down the random clothes I had in my arms and ran to the door. All the time, I chanted 'Please be Remus and Padfoot...please be Remus and Padfoot'. But, sadly, I peered through the eye-hole and saw the top of someone's red head. Lara.

I opened the door and smiled at her cheery face. "We brought you some dinner!" She held up a glass dish, covered with aluminum foil. Her hands were covered with potholders, so I figured whatever was in the dish, was hot.

I smiled and let the girl in, catching the scent of what smelled like chicken. "Wow, that smells wonderful. What is it?" I wanted to follow the scent into the kitchen, where Lara was setting the dish down. Before I could close the door, a foot stepped in between it and the door frame, stopping me. My breath caught in my throat as a million thoughts flooded my head. Sirius? Why is he not a dog? Why's he with Lara? Oh.... Remus grinned and waltzed into my flat. He had a bottle of wine in his hands with a basket attatched to one arm.

"Bringing me dinner and wine? You two sure know how to spoil a girl."

"Right, we also brought you a pet."

My eyebrows came together in confusion. But, before I could ask what she meant, a bark sounded from right behind me. I whirled around, clutching my chest at the sight of that large, black dog. They'd brought Sirius...Oh, no...He's here. He can't be here! Not after I just found out I loved him still.

I kept my wide eyes on the animal as he transformed into Sirius. And, surprisingly, he was clean. Well, I mean...he looked good. His hair was cut and he actually shaved. But his clothes were still the same. Black trousers, long black cloak and a shirt that looked like it belonged to Remus. In fact, I had seen Remus wear it on many occasions. Figures, Sirius never had anything nice to wear. Even his tuxedo at our wedding was rented...My stomach was squeezed at that thought...

Needless to say, I kept my distance from Sirius all night.

*grins wickedly* Well, that's only the first bit of the chapter... I, particularly, like the last part of this chapter the best. If you're wondering, it's called 'Our Arms Were Empty.'

Also, Chapter 3 of Intoxicated will be up shortly...I'm having a bit of writers block for this chapter, but I think I'm getting over it. Anyway, keep checking, leaving reviews, and I'll keep writing!!! ^_^ Nice balance, eh?
